  • 1 pkg. frozen phyllo (fillo), thawed in refrigerator overnight
  • 3/4 lb. butter
  • 2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 box ground zwieback or unseasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Melt butter in 12 x 18-inch baking pan. Mix nuts, zwieback, cinnamon and sugar.

    Place 5 sheets of phyllo in pan; brush with butter.

    Sprinkle on nut mixture.

    Place 3 sheets and repeat process until the entire package of phyllo has been used.

    Cut halfway through in depth in diagonal lines.

    Pour remaining butter on top.
