Banana Bread

  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. mashed bananas (2 large)
  • 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. soft margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. sour cream

    Heat oven to 350°.

    Grease three No. 2 or 303 size cans or 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

    Chop nuts and mash the bananas.

    Sift together the flour, soda and salt. Combine butter, sugar, eggs and flavoring in mixing bowl. Cream for 1 1/2 minutes. Add bananas, sour cream, nuts and flour mixture.

    Beat until well blended. Fill cans about 2/3 full. Bake 1 hour or until done.

    Let stand several minutes, then remove from cans.

    Cool thoroughly before serving.
