  • 12 cup dry barley
  • 14 cup butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (12 ounce) can chicken broth
  • 1 (8 ounce) can mushrooms, sliced
  • 12-34 cup French-fried onions
  • 12 cup slivered almonds

Directions

    Melt butter in skillet.

    Brown barley and onion in butter.

    When golden brown, place in a casserole dish with broth, mushrooms slices (including water) and almonds.

    Cover, bake about 1 hour.

    Before serving, sprinkle with French fried onions and recover.

    Let let for 5 minutes before serving.
