Ingredients

  • 50 grams Butter
  • 45 grams Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 80 grams Cake flour
  • 15 grams Cocoa (Van Houten pure cocoa)
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tbsp Milk
  • 1 Vanilla extract (optional)

Directions

    Mix the room temperature butter and sugar together with a whisk.

    It will have a cream-like consistency.

    Add the beaten egg in three batches and mix well.

    Add milk.

    If you are adding vanilla extract, do so here.

    Combine and sift the ingredients marked .

    Add to the bowl from Step 2.

    Mix well with a rubber spatula and pour the batter into muffin cups.

    Smooth out the surface with a spoon.

    Bake for 15-20 minutes in an oven preheated to 180C.

    When a skewer poked through the middle comes out clean, they're done.
