11 steps

Ingredients

  • 3 whole Avocados
  • 1/2 cups Diced Onion
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons Chili Powder
  • 13 cups Mayonnaise (optional)

Directions

  1. 1
Begin by splitting and pitting the avocados: After cutting around the pit length-wise, twist the avocado and separate the two halves.
  2. 2
Take a large knife and carefully, but with some oomph behind it, embed the knife into the pit.
  3. 3
Now the pit can be twisted right out of the avocado.
  4. 4
Insert a large spoon next to the peel and slide it next to the skin to separate the avocado.
  5. 5
Place the three peeled and pitted avocados in a food processor.
  6. 6
Chop the onion (or grate it, if you cant stand the texture of an onion.)
  7. 7
    Add to the food processor.
  8. 8
Add the salt, 1 tablespoon lemon juice (which is equal to the juice of half of a lemon), chili powder, and mayonnaise.
  9. 9
If you dont have a food processor, just mash the avocados with a fork before stirring in the other ingredients.
  10. 10
Pulse until the guacamole is at your desired texture.
  11. 11
At this point, you could add in all sorts of extraschopped tomatoes, a minced clove of garlic, large chunks of avocado, chopped fresh cilantro, jicama, Serrano chilies, diced shrimp, or even mango.
