  • 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 14 cup tahini (sesame seed paste)
  • 14 cup lemon juice
  • 14 cup olive oil
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons pine nuts, toasted (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon snipped fresh parsley

Directions

    In a blender or food processor combine the garbanzo beans, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, oil, and salt.

    Cover and blend or process until smooth, scraping sides as necessary.

    Spoon the hummus onto a serving platter.

    If desired garnish with pine nuts.

    Sprinkle with parsley.
