Bavarian Goulash

Ingredients

  • 1 pound veal
  • 1 pound lean pork
  • 1 pound lean beef
  • 3 pounds onions
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • few small slivers of carrot
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 slice lemon
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • water
  • gravy thickening
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions

    Mix all dry ingredients and add wet ingredients; beat well. Place in potato ricer and press through into boiling salted water. Cook for about 5 minutes or until they rise to the surface.

    Drain and drizzle with butter.

    Saute 1/2 cup bread crumbs in butter until brown and sprinkle over top of warm noodles.

    Serve with goulash and gravy with chunky applesauce on the side.
