- 5 medium onions, sliced
- 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 lb. round steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. flour
- 3/4 c. beef bouillon
- 1/4 tsp. marjoram
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 c. red Burgundy wine
Directions

1Cook and stir onions and mushrooms in hot shortening until tender.

2Drain on a paper towel.

3In the same skillet, brown meat, adding more shortening, if necessary.

4Remove from the heat. Sprinkle seasoning over the meat.
