- 3 lb. brisket of beef
- 2 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 2 c. sliced carrots
- salt
- pepper
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. + 2 Tbsp. water
Directions

1Salt and pepper brisket.

2Brown fat side of brisket in a large frying pan.

3Put brisket in roasting pan, brown side up.

4Brown onion in frying pan.
-
5Place on top of brisket.
-
6Place carrots and celery around brisket; add 1 cup of water.

7Cover and cook 3 hours at 350°.
-
8When done, remove from pan.
-
9Stir in cornstarch and water to make gravy.
