Beef Broccoli Pie

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 10 oz. pkg. frozen, chopped broccoli
  • 4 oz. Monterey Jack cheese
  • milk
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • pastry for 2 (9-inch) pies

Directions

    In medium skillet, brown beef and onion; drain.

    Stir in flour, salt and garlic.

    Add 1 1/4 cups milk and cream cheese. Cook and stir until mixture is smooth and bubbly.

    Add a little of this mixture to the beaten egg; return to mixture in skillet. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens.

    Stir in cooked broccoli; set aside.

    Line a 9-inch pie plate with 1/2 the pastry. Spoon meat mixture into shell.

    Cut Monterey Jack cheese into slices and arrange on top of mixture.

    Adjust the top crust of the meat pie.

    Seal.

    Use fork to make perforations in the pie crust. Brush top with a little milk.

    Bake at 350°

    for 40 to 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
