- 4 lb. beef (round or sirloin)
- 2 Tbsp. brandy
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 lb. mushrooms
- approximately 14 white onions
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1/4 to 1/2 c. flour
- 3 (10 1/2 oz.) cans beef consomme
- 1 1/2 c. Burgundy or cheap red wine
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. thyme
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 4 carrots, sliced
Directions

1Dice 6 slices of bacon; brown and remove from pan.

2Brown beef; cut in 4-inch strips.

4Flame 2 tablespoons brandy.

5Saute garlic cloves, mushrooms and white onions.
