- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 1/3 c. diced onions
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 can whole tomatoes in juice
- 1 1/2 to 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. Minute rice
- 2 slices American cheese, cut in strips
Directions

1Brown beef in oil in skillet.

2Add onion and saute with beef until tender.

3Add garlic, saute 15 seconds.

4Add chili powder, oregano, tomatoes with juice, salt and water.

5Break up tomatoes and bring to a

7Add rice.

8Stir, cover and remove from heat.

9Let stand 5 minutes.

10Place cheese strips on top.

11Replace cover.

12Let stand 3 to 5 minutes, until cheese has melted.
