Beef Mushroom Loaf

Ingredients

  • 1 (3 oz.) can chopped mushrooms
  • milk
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. catsup
  • 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup

    Drain musrhrooms.

    Reserve liquid.

    Add enough milk to mushroom liquid to make 1/2 cup.

    In a mixing bowl, combine liquid, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, mustard, pepper and mushrooms.

    Mix lightly but thoroughly.

    Shape into a loaf in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.

    Bake in a 350° oven for 1 hour.

    Combine catsup and corn syrup.

    Brush on meat loaf and bake 15 minutes more.
