Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. red cooking wine
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 3 to 4 heaping Tbsp. tapioca
  • 1 1/2 lb. browned stew meat
  • 5 carrots, cut up
  • 5 potatoes, cut up
  • 3 onions, cut
  • 1/2 green pepper, sliced
  • 5 stalks celery, cut up
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 small can drained mushrooms

Directions

    Mix together wine, water and tapioca.

    Add other ingredients and put into heavy roaster with lid or 9 x 13-inch pan, covered with foil.

    Bake 5 hours at 250°.
