Ingredients
- 2 lb. stew meat
- 1 large chopped onion
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 3 whole cloves
- 6 medium potatoes, cubed
- 1 stalk celery
- 1 c. Burgundy wine
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans beef broth
- 12 peppercorns
- 3 bay leaves
- 6 medium carrots, sliced
- small amount of oil (to saute meat)
Directions

1Brown beef in oil.

2When thoroughly browned, saute garlic and onion until onion is translucent.

3Add beef broth, tomato sauce, peppercorns, cloves and bay leaves.

4Simmer until meat is tender. After simmering 1/2 hour, add wine and simmer for another half hour or until meat is tender.

5Then add the potatoes, carrots and celery.

6Cook until vegetables are tender.
