- 8 carrots, diced
- 3 onions, chopped
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 can tomato soup
- 8 potatoes, quartered
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 c. water
- 2 lb. stew beef, chopped
Directions

1Combine flour, salt and pepper in pie pan.

2Dredge meat in flour mixture.

3In a large heavy saucepan, melt shortening.

4Add beef. Cook until browned on both sides. Add water and simmer, covered, for 90 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add soup, onions, carrots and potatoes. Cook 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
