  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 2 to 2 1/2 lb. boneless beef round steak, cut into cubes
  • dash of salt
  • dash of black pepper
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of tomato soup (undiluted)
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef consomme, divided
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3 c. cooked egg noodles

Directions

    Melt butter in a large skillet, add steak cubes and brown all over.

    Add salt, pepper, tomato soup and half of the beef consomme.

    Stir to make a smooth sauce.

    Add onion and mushrooms. Cover and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
