Ingredients
- 1/3 c. cornmeal (stone ground)
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 c. milk
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 beaten eggs
- 4 c. flour (more as needed)
Directions

1Cook first 5 ingredients; cool.

2Add yeast that has been dissolved in warm water.

3Add eggs; beat well.

4Add flour to make firm soft dough.

5Knead well on floured board.

6Place in bowl, cover, let rise and punch down.

7Roll out to 1-inch thickness.

8Cut with biscuit cutter.

9Place on greased cookie sheet.

10Cover; let rise.

11Bake at 375° for 15 minutes.

12Yields 18 rolls.
