  • 1 lb. round steak (1/4 to 1/2-inch thick)
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 1 (3 oz.) can (2/3 c.) broiled, sliced mushrooms
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 1 c. dairy sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp. enriched flour
  • buttered noodles

    Trim fat.

    Heat 3 tablespoons oil in skillet.

    Brown meat quickly.

    Add water and mushrooms (liquid, too).

    Stir in soup mix; cook until meat is tender.

    Blend flour into sour cream and add to meat mixture.

    Stir until sauce thickens, but not to boiling.

    Serve over buttered noodles.
