- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 3/4 c. sour milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1Mix flour, sugar, salt and shortening.

2Save 3/4 cup of this mixture for top crumbs.

3To the remainder, add baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, egg and sour milk; beat until batter is smooth.

4Pour into an 8-inch square, oiled pan and scatter reserved crumbs on top.

5Bake at 375° for 25 minutes.

6Serve warm with butter.
