Black Forest Cake

Ingredients

• cake batter:
• 1 1/2 cup heavy cream
• 1 teaspoon almond extract
• (here you can sub kirsh but almonds taste like cherries)
• 1 1/2 cup sugar
• 3 eggs beaten
• 2 cup flour
• 2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• for the filling:
• 10/12 oz german cherries, halved
• water, as needed
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 to 2 tablespoons cornstarch
• for the frosting & garnishment
• 2 cups heavy cream, whipped
• 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
• 1/3 cup grated/shaved chocolate (white, dark, doesn't matter)
• and a few cherries from the filling's list
