- 1 qt. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 6 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions

1Scald milk on top of double boiler.

2Mix sugar, salt and cornstarch together and slowly stir into hot milk.

3Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.

4Cover and continue to cook for 15 or 20 minutes or until no raw, starchy taste remains.

5Beat egg and pour blanc mange into it.

6Add vanilla and beat well.

7Chill.

8Serve with hot chocolate sauce.
