Blueberry Squares

  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 can blueberry pie filling

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar with mixer; add egg and beat well. After sifting together dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture with a fork, then by hand, divide dough in half.

    Press half into a 13 x 9-inch pan, forming 1/8-inch edge.

    Fill with pie filling. Form second half of dough into a ball, then grate on large side of grater over filling.

    Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.

    Can be cut into squares when cooled or cut from dish and served as cobbler.
