- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 pt. blueberries
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Cream shortening.

2Add sugar gradually.

3Cream until well blended.

4Add 1 egg.

5Beat until mixture is light and fluffy. Sift flour, baking powder and salt.

6Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk and vanilla.

7Pour into 9 x 13-inch cake pan.

8Cover with washed and drained blueberries.

9Sprinkle top with sugar.

10Dot with butter.

11Bake in a 350° oven for about 1 hour.
