  • 1 1/2 c. seeded raisins
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. salt

    Boil this mixture gently for 3 minutes.

    Remove from heat and cool a few minutes.

    Add 1 1/2 teaspoons soda.

    When cold, add 2 cups flour.

    Bake in a moderate 350° oven until done, when cake tester comes out clean.
