- 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1 3/4 c. milk
- 1 c. corn meal
- 2/3 c. rye flour
- 3/4 c. graham flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2/3 c. molasses
- 1/2 c. raisins
Directions

1Soak bread crumbs in milk for one hour.

2Rub the crumbs through a sieve and reserve milk.

3Sift dry ingredients together; add crumbs and molasses.

4Stir in raisins and milk.

5Stir well and pour into a well-greased mold.

6Fill 2/3 full.

7Cover top tightly. Steam on trivet in deep kettle with boiling water.

8The water should be 2/3 the way up on molds and more added as needed.

9Cover the kettle to boil and do this for 3 hours.
