- 4 cooking apples large Bramley
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lemon large
- 7/8 cup sugar unrefined castor
- 2 pinches ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold
- 1 3/4 cups plain flour
- 11/16 cup sugar castor
- 7/8 ounce porridge oats
Directions

1Pre heat the oven to 200°C, Gas Mark 6.

2Peel and core the apples and cut into large chunks.

3Heat the oil in a saucepan, add the lemon zest and juice, 175g sugar, cinnamon and then add the apples.

4Cook for 5 minutes to soften slightly.

5Tip into a large baking dish say 20cm square, roughly.

6Place the cold butter and flour into a food processor and blitz until you have fine breadcrumbs.

7Tip into a bowl and stir through the sugar, carefully.

8Spoon over the top of the stewed apples and sprinkle over the oats

9Bake in the pre heated oven for 30 - 40 minutes or until well browned.

10Serve with custard and, or ice cream.
