  • 6 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. Crisco
  • 1/2 cake yeast in 1/2 c. warm water

    Work into ball.

    Let rise (double).

    Knead down again (let raise double).

    Knead and put into bread pans.

    Pierce with fork. Let raise 1 1/2 hours.

    Bake 400° for 30 minutes.

    Yields 2 loaves.

    Wipe with butter when still warm from oven.
