Ingredients

  • 5 slices bread, cubed
  • 1/2 lb. or 1 c. sausage
  • 1/2 lb. mild Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. sage
  • 1/4 c. melted margarine

Directions

    Brown; drain sausage and set aside to cool.

    In a bowl, mix the eggs, salt, milk, dry mustard and sage; mix well and set aside.

    In a 9 x 13-inch pan, layer the cubed bread, sausage and grated cheese.

    Pour the egg mixture over the layers.

    Next, pour the melted margarine over the layers.

    Cool and cover with foil. Refrigerate at least 12 hours.

    Set out for 3 to 4 hours before baking.

    Bake in a 350° oven for 1 hour, loosely covered with foil.
