Broiled Basil Tomatoes

- 4 small tomatoes
- 1 Tbsp. olive or salad oil
- salt
- coarsely ground black pepper
- dried basil leaves
Directions

1About 15 minutes before serving, preheat broiler if manufacturer directs.

2Cut out stem of each tomato and then cut each tomato horizontally in half.

3Place halves, cut sides up, on rack in broiling pan.

4Brush with oil.

5Sprinkle with salt, pepper and basil leaves.

6About 5 to 7 inches from source of heat, broil tomato halves until tomatoes are heated through, about 10 minutes. Makes 4 servings, about 50 calories per serving.
