- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. rye flour
- 1 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/2 c. walnuts
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. dark molasses
Directions

1Mix flours, cornmeal, baking soda and salt together.

2Add raisins and nuts.

3Slowly add buttermilk and molasses alternately to dry ingredients after each addition.

4Pour into buttered 9-inch loaf pan.

5Bake at 375° for 50 minutes, or tested done.

6Let stand in pan on wire rack for 5 minutes.

7Loosen side with knife; turn out on rack.

8Brush with butter while still warm.

9Cool before cutting.
