- 2 1/2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 c. uncooked Uncle Ben's rice
- 1 can beef broth
- 2 cans chicken broth
- 1 can water
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp. dried basil
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375° to 400°.

2Melt margarine in a large casserole dish.

3Cook onion in skillet until it is translucent. Add rice and stir briefly over low heat until grains are coated with butter.

4Stir in broth and water, making sure there are no lumps in the rice.

5Add salt, pepper and basil.

6Cover with close-fitting lid and place in oven.

7Bake 17 to 20 minutes.

8If rice is not to be served immediately, keep dish covered.

9Makes 8 servings.
