- 2 eggs
- 13 cup brown sugar
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 12 cup chopped dates
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can evaporated milk, undiluted
- 12 cup water
- 2 cups quick cooked brown rice
- nutmeg
Directions

1Beat eggs lightly with sugar, salt, and vanilla.

2Stir in milk, water, rice, and dates.

3Turn into a shallow 1 1/2 quart baking dish, then sprinkle generously with nutmeg.

4Set in a pan of hot water.

5Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes, until knife inserted in custard comes out clean.
