- 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
- 1/3 c. light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/4 c. flour
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Butter an 8-inch round cake pan.

3In medium mixing bowl, combine butter, sugar and vanilla.

4Beat with mixer until fluffy.

5Gradually add flour, 1/4 cup at a time, by hand.

6Transfer to pan; pat dough evenly in layer.

7Prick surface all over with a fork.

8Bake about 50 minutes, until light brown. This shortbread will melt in your mouth.
