Ingredients

  • 2 c. Flour
  • 2 c. Sugar
  • 1 stk butter
  • 1/2 c. Shortening
  • 4 Tbsp. Cocoa
  • 1 c. Water
  • 2 x Large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 c. Buttermilk
  • 1 Tbsp. Soda
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 stk butter
  • 4 Tbsp. Cocoa
  • 6 Tbsp. Lowfat milk
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Vanilla
  • 1 c. Nuts

Directions

    NOTE: Last 6 ingredients are for the icing.

    Mix flour & sugar in large bowl.

    In saucepan heat butter, shortening, cocoa & water & bring to a rapid boil.

    Pour this mix over the flour mix & stir well.

    Add in beaten Large eggs, buttermilk, soda & vanilla.

    Bake in long, greased cookie sheet

    (12x24-inch) at 400 for about 20 min.

    (You MUST use this size pan.)

    ICING: Heat together butter, cocoa & lowfat milk.

    Remove from heat & add in sugar, vanilla & nuts.

    Ice warm brownies & let cold before cutting into squares.
