Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter (no substitutes), softened
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- additional sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1In mixing bowl, cream butter, oil and sugars.

2Add egg and vanilla.

3Combine flour, baking soda and cream of tartar; gradually add to the creamed mixture.

4Chill for several hours or overnight.

5Drop by rounded teaspoonful 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.

6Flatten with a fork dipped in flour; sprinkle with sugar.

7Bake at 350° for 13 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

8Makes about 4 dozen.
