- 2 lb. peas or 2 pkg. frozen peas
- 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 4 small onions, minced
- 1/2 head lettuce, shredded
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. grated nutmeg
- 3 Tbsp. salad oil
- 3/4 c. boiling water
- 1 tsp. sugar
Directions

1Put peas, onions, lettuce, sugar, salt, nutmeg, parsley and oil in a heavy saucepan.

2Add boiling water.

3Cover tightly and cook on high heat for 10 minutes.

4Turn the heat to low and cook 10 minutes more, or until peas are tender.

5Serve with some of the broth over them.
