Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. buttermilk (more if needed)

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients, cut in shortening and milk.

    Stir with fork to mix.

    Turn out on floured board and knead a few times. Roll out and cut.

    Place on greased baking sheet or shallow metal baking pan.

    Bake at 425° to 450° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
