Buttermilk Cake

   Crisco and salt.

   Mix well and add buttermilk,

   soda,

   lemon

   extract

   and flour. Blend well then fold

    in 6 egg whites, beaten stiff.

    Bake 1 1/2 hours in tube pan at 350°.

    This may be eaten like it is or you may put your favorite icing on it.
