Buttermilk Pound Cake

- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 or 5 eggs
- 3 c. sifted flour (plain)
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 Tbsp. lemon flavor
Directions

1Cream butter, shortening and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time until well beaten.

3Add all the dry ingredients together.

4Put lemon flavor into buttermilk and add to butter and egg mixture. Beat good and put in tube pan, well-greased.

5Cook at 325° or 250° or 300° for 1 hour.

6Ovens vary in cooking.
