- 4 c. bread cubes (do not pack)
- 1/2 c. seedless raisins
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1 c. light brown sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- dash of salt
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine bread and raisins; add milk.

2Let stand for 15 minutes.

3Cook butter and brown sugar together over low heat until syrupy (about 10 minutes).

4Mix eggs, seasonings and vanilla; add with sugar mixture to moisten bread.

5Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.

6Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
