- 1 stick margarine
- 2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. or more chopped nuts
Directions

1In a medium saucepan melt margarine and brown sugar over low heat and bring to bubble stage.

2Continue cooking for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add eggs (all at one time), stirring rapidly. If lumps occur, return to heat and continue to beat.

3Add dry ingredients and stir.

4Add vanilla and nuts.

5Pour into a greased 8 x 12-inch pan.

6Bake at 350° for 18 minutes.

7Cool and cut into squares.
