  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 4 to 5 Tbsp. flour or cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 4 to 5 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 to 5 Tbsp. sugar (white)

Directions

    Mix beaten egg yolks, brown sugar, salt, flour, milk and butter in double boiler.

    Cook over boiling water until thick. Add vanilla. Pour into 9-inch baked pie shell.

    Beat egg whites with white sugar and put on top of pie filling.

    Bake at 400° for 10 minutes or until egg whites are golden brown.

    This tastes like old fashion pie.
