Cabbage Casserole

  • 4 c. shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 c. butter, divided
  • 1 tsp. dill seed
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 c. sliced mushrooms or canned
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 c. tomato sauce
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. soft bread crumbs

Directions

    Blanche cabbage 2 minutes in salt water; drain.

    Blend in 3 tablespoons butter, dill, salt and pepper; set aside.

    Saute mushrooms, 3 tablespoons butter and onion.

    Stir into cabbage; add the tomato sauce and sour cream.

    Put into 1 1/2-quart casserole. Top with butter and bread crumbs.

    Bake at 375° for 25 minutes.
