Cabbage Casserole

  • 5 c. chopped cabbage (large pieces)
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 1 can water chestnuts
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • cornflakes (enough to line large casserole dish and cover top of casserole)
  • grated cheese (for top of casserole)

Directions

    Line large casserole dish with crushed cornflakes.

    Put 5 cups cabbage in dish (can cut large).

    In a pan, mix margarine, milk, mayonnaise, water chestnuts and onion.

    Bring to a boil.

    Pour over cabbage.

    Put cheese on top, then cover with enough crushed cornflakes to cover top.

    Cook, covered, at 350° for 45 minutes.
