Cabbage Patch Soup

Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 medium onion
- 1/2 c. thinly sliced celery
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
- 2 c. water
- 1 (1 lb.) can red kidney beans
- 1 tsp. each: salt and chili powder
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. thinly shredded cabbage
Directions

1Cook beef in butter, stirring, until brown and crumbly.

2Add onion and celery and saute 5 minutes.

3Stir in tomatoes (break with fork), water, salt, chili and pepper.

4Bring to boiling.

5Add cabbage.
-
6Cover and cook until cabbage is tender (about 3 minutes).

7Serve in soup plates.

8Makes 4 to 6 servings.
