    Add 1 cup sugar and melted Crisco.

    Add 1 cup milk.

    Mix flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.

    Combine dry and liquid ingredients, stirring, only until smooth.

    Roll dough to about 1/2-inch thickness on a floured board.

    Dough should be soft.

    Cut with floured doughnut cutter.
