Candied Pecans

  • 3 12 cups pecans
  • 2 egg whites
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 12 cup butter, melted

Directions

    Brown pecans in open pan in oven at 325 degrees (just for a minute until brown).

    Take out and cool.

    Beat egg whites, salt and sugar until stiff peaks form.

    Add pecans to egg whites.

    In meantime, melt butter in large cake pan 9 x 13 inch.

    Spread pecan mixture over melted butter.

    Bake 325 degrees for 30 minutes Stir every 10 minutes until butter is absorbed.

    Cool on waxed paper.
