- 1 large bunch wild violets with stems, washed

1In one bowl, beat egg whites until frothy.

3Pick up violet by stem; dip in egg whites and then in sugar.

5Put on waxed paper.

6Snip off stem. With toothpick, open flower petals.

7Dry in 200° oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until sugar crystallizes.

8Remove flowers with spatula or fork.

9Store in airtight container with waxed paper between layers.
