Candy Apple Walnut Pie

  • 6 c. thinly sliced cooking apples (with or without peels)
  • 2/3 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 c. cinnamon red-hot candies
  • 2/3 c. sugar + 2 Tbsp.
  • 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 deep dish frozen pie crusts

Directions

    In large bowl, toss together apples, walnuts & candies, 2/3 c. sugar & 1/3 c. flour.

    Pour into 1 frozen pie crust.

    Break or crumble second pie crust and toss with remaining 2 Tbsp. of sugar and 1 Tsp. cinnamon.

    Sprinkle over apples.

    Bake in preheated 375° oven on a preheated baking sheet for 55-60 mins. or until candies melt and bubble up.

    Cool completely before serving.
